I leaned over the balcony of this staircase at the Vatican in Rome and saw this spectacular play of Movement and Rhythm.

Movement - Visual movement along lines, edges, shapes and colours

Rhythm - Repetition of visual movement - colours, shapes, lines.

Movement and Progressive Rhythm work together in this image….the elements change sizes as they progress or move through the space, clearly showing the focal point in the centre.
